Brainsurfers
Brainsurfers is a boutique consultancy and development house based in Melbourne, Australia. We provide technology and strategic advice to businesses, graphic design services and human resource support. We pride ourselves on our deep understanding of small-to-medium sized business needs and provide practical solutions and advice.
We believe in an AGILE methodology; techniques that grew out of software development teams and adapt that methodology to non-developer businesses. This allows you to run an ever more complex business, faster, cheaper and with less stress. Basically ways to organize your team and get more productive work done in less time!
You may not understand the terminology yet, but you will love it once you start using it. Things like Scrum, Sprint and (MVP) Minimum Viable Product might be foreign, but I bet you can guess what Backlogs and Blockers might be. Also in today’s world everything has to look good! 🙂

David Cordover
CFO
David built his own businesses for over 25 years. Always loved teaching and would share his knowledge with anyone who was willing to learn.
He started at age 11 with the ubiquitous lawn mowing rounds and door-to-door sales. When he was 16 he founded Chess Kids, adding a retail business in 1999, Event management platform in 2008 and much more.
He leads an active life with 4 kids and a puppy. Board and card games are a favourite hobby, and he is a member of Mensa and Melbourne Angels, and mentors at Melbourne Uni, Monash Uni, Swinburne and RMIT.
Achievements Include:
- Settlers of Catan Australian Champion
- Australian Junior Chess Champion
- Glen Eira Young Citizen of the Year
- Purdy Medal (chess journalism)
Simon Dale
CTO
Simon passionately follows ideas to reality. He has been delivering Internet software platforms for well over 20 years, including the World’s largest outdoor rock climbing platform, theCrag, as well as other community and enterprise management platforms under the Brainsurfers brand.
Accomplished at teasing out business requirements, Simon, is leading a team of highly skilled software engineers and designers to build a next generation of business focused bespoke software systems. His aim is to inspire them to do their best work and wake up every day excited about the difference they are making.
As the ex-President of Melbourne Chess Club he is proud of the work he did helping rebuild the club to be a thriving community of chess enthusiasts.
Outside of work you will see him walking and running the streets of Melbourne, hanging around in various indoor rock climbing gyms and occasionally tasting the delights of the city’s craft beers.
